The Children’s Program helps kids to positively cope with the many challenges they face. The program helps kids learn about addiction through age-appropriate activities so they realize that the disease is not their fault, they are not alone and they are not to blame. Children talk openly in a safe, supportive environment and are encouraged to express their feelings about this cunning, baffling disease. The Children’s Program, offered in both Aurora and Colorado Springs, is a nurturing haven of help, hope and healing.[/cs_text][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][cs_section parallax=”false” style=”margin: 0px;padding: 0px 0px 45px;”][cs_row inner_container=”true” marginless_columns=”false” style=”margin: 0px auto;padding: 0px;”][cs_column fade=”false” fade_animation=”in” fade_animation_offset=”45px” fade_duration=”750″ type=”1/1″ style=”padding: 0px 10px;”][x_custom_headline level=”h5″ accent=”false” class=”cs-ta-center”]Emerson H – a very brave and well-spoken 11 year old – captivated the audience when describing the changes in her life after attending a camp designed for kids with parents dealing with addiction. “I thought this was my fault and they taught me that I didn’t cause it, I can’t change it and I can’t control…that really helped me because I was carrying so much guilt.”[/x_custom_headline][x_video_embed no_container=”false” type=”16:9″][/x_video_embed][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][/cs_content]

We help 7 to 12-year-old children from families hurt by addiction. No child is turned away for lack of funds. Scholarships are available. All Children’s Programs are open to the public. Parents do not have to be patients at any Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation location in order for their children to participate in the Children’s Program.
