Learn & Lead:
Leadership Skills
Learning leadership skills while in high school will help you create a sense of community within your school, prepare you for your future, and empower you to be the best version of yourself. These skills include assertiveness, team building, group development, and communication skills. Learning what type of leader you are will also help you develop the skills within that leadership style, making it easier to apply these skills in a way that suits your personality best.
Leadership Institute
The 3-day leadership institute is an opportunity for high school students to learn about their leadership styles, work on team building, and learn how to increase visibility and community within their schools. Students value this training because it’s “hands on”. The SLS Institute is a youth-led, interactive training model that engages youth, offers fun activities & presents opportunities for students to design, plan and construct leadership experiences for their peers & community, net-work, build skills, increase social competence, achieve recognition and have fun.
There are different types of leadership styles, all of them use the skills necessary to be an effective leader. But, the way in which those skills are applied depends on the leadership style of that person. If you would like to find out what type of leader you are, take the quiz below.
